Competitions are increasingly the main route to publication for emerging writers, but as submissions grow higher year by year how can your work rise to the top?
Drawing on prize-winning examples, judges comments, and exercises designed to put theory into practice, we’ll explore what makes an entry stand out from the crowd. We’ll look at competition trends, how to find the best opportunities and manage multiple submissions, and the factors that make an outstanding piece of contemporary writing. Join prize-winning poet Kim Lasky for hints and tips on how to give your work the best chance of being chosen as a winner.
